Ace Workshop
Since 2012, the ACE (Association des Cinémathèques Européennes whose 44 members represent all the major film archives in Europe) organizes a series of workshops to allow professionals in cinematheques and film archives to brainstorm about the most pressing issues in the field.
This year, the workshop will focus on how collection and acquisition policies are affected by the advent of digital distribution. How film heritage institutions deal with the fact that in the digital age deposit of non-domestic works is shrinking? How the status of analog collections changes when prints cannot be replaced anymore? These are some of the questions that have become increasingly important for all archives and that the workshop will debate.
