Me and me Dad traccia un ritratto di quest'uomo complesso, carismatico ed elusivo osserva­to dal punto di vista di una persona a lui vicina: la figlia Katrine.
Katrine, che non aveva mai tenuto in mano una macchina da presa, segue e filma il pa­dre nell'arco di quattro anni, durante i quali John tenta costantemente di controllare tut­to, offrendole un corso accelerato di regia. È così che Katrine crea un viaggio intimo e sorprendente.

Katrine Boorman ha trascorso tre anni con Le Grand Orchestre du Splendid prima di re­citare in vari film, tra cui Excalibur, Marche à l'ombre, Anni '40, Camille Claudel, Gazon Maudit. A teatro è apparsa in Beelzebub So­nata e in The Last Night of Antonin Artaud e nelle opere Oedipus Rex e Persephone. Recentemente è stata produttrice esecutiva del film Boogie Woogie prima di passare alla regia con il documentario Me and me Dad.

Now approaching his 80th year the brilliant and inspiring director John Boorman is one of the last great mavericks, having directed over 17 films including Point Blank, Ex­calibur and Deliverance, made numerous documentaries and written several books. Me and me Dad is a revealing study of this difficult, charismatic and elusive man by one who should know him best: his daugh­ter Katrine.
Katrine, who previously had never held a camera, follows and films her father over a period of four years. Throughout, John attempts to control the entire process. He offers up a crash course masterclass in di­recting films. With her father as her teacher Katrine creates an intimate and surprising journey.
Vulnerable, cross, funny, nostalgic, wild and wise, Boorman chronicles his adventures in Hollywood but he also talks with great honesty about his childhood, his marriages, his passion for nature, his need for danger and why film is the only thing he ever truly loved. What begins as a study of Boorman becomes the story of the Boorman family. A vivid narrative of a perfectly imperfect fam­ily emerges and we see the chaos and dif­ficulties his chosen path imposed on those closest to him. A funny and honest history is told by one of film's true survivors, Me and me Dad is a portrait of one of the most influential British filmmakers of the last 40 years. But most of all it is a story of a father and daughter finding their way back to each other through the language of film.
Katrine Boorman spent three years with the Grand orchestre du Splendide before act­ing in Marche à l'ombre, Camille Claudel, Excalibur, Hope and Glory, Gazon Maudit to name but a few. She has also starred in theatre productions Beelzebub Sonata and Antonin Artaud as well as in opera's Oe­dipus Rex and Persephone. More recently Katrine executive produced the feature film Boogie Woogie before directing her debut documentary film Me and me Dad.
